Firstly, being able to work with seriously talented, award winning producers Alex and Catherine was extremely appealing.
Then, being able to support Australian Children's Music Fund (ACMF) was an easy one for me. Such an incredible organisation providing music to children that might not normally have access to it.
For me, it was personal. I couldn't imagine life without music. Music saved me. Through my brothers schizophrenic beatings, my mother's attempted suicide and the other childhood stresses, I was safe because I was able to channel my emotions into piano, singing and violin. I was one of the lucky ones.

George Ellis Conductor, Composer and Arranger |
Natasha Duarte Singer/Songwriter and winner of UK Songwriting Contest |
The incredible George Ellis, who includes conducting the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic games as one of his career highlights, was delicate, sensitive and joyful!
Natasha Duarte, was happy to support. She was winner of UK best video song competition for Punch Me In The Heart, a catchy pop tune that you can watch here. She is a pretty great actress in the video too!
Danielle Spencer singer, songwriter and actress and supporting her dad who founded ACMF.

Interestingly, he was born in London the same year my mum was and moved to Australia the same year my mum did. Hmmm. I wonder if their paths crossed.
Mirusia was a thrill to meet. We chatted about her concerts and how she brings her own orchestra along with her. Quite incredible.
Mirusia grew up learning English by singing to Don Spencer's songs. She happily sang one of these for us. Quite an amazing voice.
The story of how she came to perform with the fabulous Dutch violinist Andre Rieu is sweet. You can read about it on her website.

The following Monday, we headed over to Fox Studios where we were to film a segment with Ronan Keating, (incidentally Ronan has the same middle names as my son, Patrick John!)
Chanel 9 kindly loaned Ronan to us on a very short break from filming The Voice Australia. We only had 15 minutes to setup lights and camera's get the room ready. Then we had only 10 minutes to shoot the segment. Ronan was extremely polite, gracious and very professional so it all went pretty well.
